I’m Charlie. I’m currently working on contract at EMC Corporation in their education services department as a course developer and trainer, specifically in the area of storage security. I also teach at Brandeis University in the Rabb School Division of Professional Studies in the MS in Information Assurance program, and facilitate courses at Boston University.
I’ve been in the data communications and networking area now since 1983 when I first started work in network management at BBN, and I’ve been in the security field since 1998 when I started working at Genuity for the VPN Advantage service (managed VPNs), initially in developing the Service and Network management software, and then as a software architect focused on the overall “secure management of managed security.” Since 2006, I’ve been involved in course development and teaching security, first at EMC and then at Brandeis University, where I helped design the curriculum for the MSIA program.
What the title for this blog? First, I’m a security geek. Secondly, I’m focused now on teaching information security, how to communicate important terms and concepts, and more importantly, providing realistic, hands-on lab experience in a distance learning environment. Lastly, I’m passionate about teaching and security – so if you listen for a while, you’ll be thoroughly “security geeked!”
Thanks for stopping by.
